Math Important Book

The Math Important Book project is going better than expected, honestly.  I am very proud of my students for embracing the project.  Most students are using the small journals I picked up at Michaels Craft Store, others are using composition book, while some students have chosen to use a journal of their choice.  At mid-September, we are up to about 15 entries!  Below are two of the most recent, both of which are my designs.  I hope to get pictures of entries from the student books uploaded soon.

Desperately trying to figure out which materials will be best for us to tackle the Math Important Book next year.  We have currently explored the idea of a composition book, a 5x7 photo album, and just yesterday I found a $1 darling journal at Michael's that I've been experimenting with today.

If you have an opinion on which medium would be best, please let me know!

{sample pages from my practice book--we decided a great way to introduce the book (other than the personal statement) was to make important pages related to our classroom management style as well as some 'staples' to our classroom operation}

{index--I set aside 7 pages in the back, marked it with a post it tab labeled 'index' and made space for 4 letters on each page.  This way, if kids are looking for a specific topic, they can look for it alphabetically and find what page it is located on}
